Alberton is a strange stand-alone suburb situated on the East Rand. The population as mixed in culture as is the land use. The footprint of Alberton is not by any means small with a staggering 77.16 km2.

Some present day heroes and celebrities also have a strong tie with Alberton. They are either currently residing or have resided in Alberton. Alberton is situated close to Wadeville and Alrode, two major industrial areas.
