The 40 seated Farm Restaurant houses a fully equipped kitchen, micro winery including all wine making equipment and a small shop.
The restaurant has been operational for three years, only open for lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and serving good healthy farm-to-table meals. The restaurant makes small amounts of wine (grapes harvested from the farm) which is served in the restaurant. The restaurant produces delicious ice cream which is a big hit with the patrons and outside suppliers. Gin is distilled in a small micro-brewery.
There are two massive storage dams which are filled by rain water from the vast catchment area, during the rainy season. Situated in a high rainfall area! The house hold water is shared water (2 days in every 8 days) from a crystal clear mountain spring. The pump house and extensive irrigation systems supply life-giving water, more than enough for current needs. All water sources are registered with the authorities.
The farm has 18Ha of Wine Grapes, producing an average of 150 Tons of Grapes and they brag with noble varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Chardonnay, Mourvedre , Grenache, Viognier and Colombar. Not to mention the latest varieties of Cactus Pears (Prickly Pears with-out thorns) which can be used as cattle feed. More than 5Ha cleared for animal pastures.
Most of the land consists of wild Cape natural fynbos. Excellent deep alluvial soils are good for cash crops, vegetables, seed production, fruit and nut trees etc. Included in the sale is an undivided quarter share of the mountain on the east side of the farm.
