Johannesburg South is a large region of Johannesburg made up of a long list of suburbs. Each suburb has its own unique features and of course draws a specific type of buyer.

Suideroord is a suburb that offers a lot for its residents. It is a tranquil familial suburb with well-established sturdily constructed homes, a mixed property usage to choose from and in its favour is its prime location. Suideroord does in some ways have that resort type of atmosphere doing its name some justice.

Suideroord is also a middle-class suburb with an architectural flavour that is a timeline of its development. One will find the functional conventional, the current Tuscan and Balinese styles and some architectural homes which also adds to the status of the suburb.

Apartment buildings tend to be more fashionable drawing the younger market, cluster homes as a rule of thumb tends to draw pensioners and the medium sized families and of course the larger freestanding homes catering for or appealing to the established growing families.

A sense of pride the residents have for the suburb is evident by the neat tree lined sidewalks and generally well maintained homes.

The south of Johannesburg was once upon a time considered a remote location for a suburb to be in but by today’s standards the suburb is in a highly prime location in relation to commercial and industrial hubs. Major roads connecting to industrial hubs like Robertsham, Glenesk, Rosherville and Prolecon are the N1 Western Bypass, the N12 Southern Bypass, the M1 and Kliprivier Drive. These major roads also connect to the commercial hubs in Sandton, the Johannesburg CBD, Houghton and Parktown.

There are more than enough schools catering for educational needs for residents such as Glenanda Primary School, Abbotts College Johannesburg South, Sir John Adamson High School and Mondeor High School.

Malls catering for retail needs to Suideroord residents are Columbine Square, The Glen Shopping Mall and Camaro Crossing.
