Located amongst the hills of Durban North is the leafy elite suburb of Park Hill. The region of Durban North is a reasonably newer region of Durban located close to the Umgeni River and La Lucia.
By definition, the suburb is middle to upper-class with some very appealing large homes. The property values of the greater Durban North are to some extent driven by suburbs like La Lucia, Umhlanga, Umhlanga Rocks and Rose Hill which are by definition prestigious suburbs.
Many of the homes in Park Hill have the most spectacular views out over the ocean and the Blue Lagoon out towards Umhlanga Rocks.
The mixed property usage in Park Hill which consists of freestanding homes, apartments, townhouses and cluster homes attracts a large part of the market that fall outside the range of properties in the prestigious segment. This means there is a high demand for the homes of the suburb. Then there is also the second holiday home market which is a highly competitive market amongst the season visitors.
The fact that Park Hill is in a ultra-prime location also contributes to its popularity as it is within easy access of reputable public and private schools, entertainment and tourist attractions, exclusive malls, commercial and industrial hubs.
First-time buyers in the executive market are also catered for with some very prestigious apartments in the market.
Schools which cater for educational requirements are Oakridge College, Our Lady of Fatima Convent School, Durban North College and Northlands Girls’ High School.
Malls close to Park Hill are La Lucia Mall, Northway Centre, Pavilion Shopping Centre and Gateway Mall.
Industrial hubs close to Park Hill are Briardene and Anil Industrial.
The best part is of course the white beaches, sunshine and blue Indian Ocean and entertainment venues like Suncoast Casino, uShaka Marine World and uShaka Village Walk.
