North Beach in Durban has always been the ideal place to spend summer holidays. For this reason property values have kept up with demand and market trends.
With the redevelopment of the uShaka Marine World, Moses Mabhida Stadium and the Bluff, property in North Beach has become more desirable as a second holiday property.
The proximity to tourist amenities is one reason why the suburb is favored as most of these amenities are within walking distance.

But they do all in their own right still offer affordability which is one of its strong selling points. The amount of movement in this suburb is not due to any negativity but in fact in most cases it is sellers upgrading to family homes or larger apartments.
There are a large percentage of permanent residents in the suburb who reside in the suburb due to its prime location, close to important amenities like schools, malls, commercial and industrial hubs.
The rental market in the suburb falls within two categories namely permanent residential letting and seasonal holiday rental with both showing handsome income.

Within the rental market there is maybe an underutilized segment catering for student accommodation and especially in the more affordable apartment buildings as North Beach is close to the Durban University of Technology.
