Kempton Park is a town that forms part of the Ekurhuleni municipality on the East Rand which is one of the larger municipalities in Gauteng. The town was established in 1903 by a German named Karl Wolff.
Manufacturing is the foundation of the town and many other towns on the East Rand with Isando being the largest industrial hub in Gauteng. This fact has had a knock on effect of further development of residential suburbs being needed as industrialization increased on the East Rand.
Kempton Park is a large municipality with lots of suburbs and the CBD offers the prospect of commercial and residential property in the form of apartments which are ideal for staff employed at the OR Tambo airport or within the commercial sector working in the towns CBD.
The free-hold home market can be described as middle-class with a few bargains and restoration prospects on offer.
Demand for property in the suburb stems from its proximity to the major industrial hubs and also stable growth in property value which is in fact equal to market norms. For this reason the buy-to-let market is stable too.
Amenities like schools, commercial, industrial hubs and malls are in place and within easy access on the minor and major roads with the major benefit of the OR Tambo airport being on the doorstep.
The other advantage is that there are two Gautrain stations servicing the suburb with one being at the OR Tambo International Airport and the other being located in Rhodesfield.
Residing in Kempton Park is a matter of closest amenities and preference with the advantage of many affordable and upmarket suburbs to choose from.
For people employed in commercial hubs like Sandton, Johannesburg OR Midrand the freeways are convenient to use.
