Hillcrest is a suburb set in The Valley of a Thousand Hills in KZN which means it can be described as a tranquil laid back atmosphere away from the hum drum of city life in Durban.

Only 22 minutes from Pinetown and 35 km from Durban could relate to a prime location and given the stunning setting of the suburb the minor distance should not be viewed as an inconvenience.

Properties in the suburb are of a mixed use comprising freehold homes, townhouses and apartments. There are a number of vacant stands in the suburb waiting for the right design which, in the suburb ranges from conventional to modern and ultra-modern. This means the suburb can be classified as a middle to upper-class suburb with large grounds of most of the homes.

The potential for property in the commercial sector catering for the tourism industry is large as the region is frequented by tourists all year round due to favorable weather and the many attractions like nature trails, hiking and general outdoor activities.

There are a number of new residential or townhouse estates under development within the suburb which is a good indication that the suburb enjoys a high degree of demand and that developers have found a niche market in the reason.

With industrial hubs like New Germany close by and the commercial hub of Pinetown as close it means travel to work is a similar distance that people in Gauteng travel to work.

Major access roads further convenience travel along the N3 freeway and King Cetshwayo Highway south and north.

There are a large number of reputable schools servicing the suburb such as Hillcrest Primary School, Hillcrest High School, Curro HCA (Hillcrest Christian Academy) and Forest View Primary School.

Malls in the suburb are Link Hills Shopping Centre, Watercrest Mall and Pine Crest Centre.
