Bedfordview is a suburb with extensions on the east rand that carries an automatic status of exclusivity. This is then true for the extension suburbs like Essexwold.

At first glance it is apparent that the suburb caters for the well-heeled executive market judging from the sizes of homes, their contemporary and sometimes dramatic architecture, the exquisitely landscaped manicured gardens and neat pavements which are a reflection of the private gardens.

Essexwold residents are not exclusively reliant on the commercial sector for employment as the major industrial hubs are just as influential on the suburb for a source of income.

The aesthetic appeal of the suburb is pleasing and inviting which not only exudes the status but also invites families for a closer look at what a familial suburb looks like within the executive market. The architecture will of course draw the younger generation executives and career people entering the executive market with the prospect of growth in property values in mind.

Many of the residents in Essexwold rarely move to other suburbs but it is more a case of relocating elsewhere in the country that obligates these loyal residents to leave. With all the important amenities so close to the suburb it may just make sense to not want to move and of course the tranquility is also a contributing factor.

With all the major highways north east and west Essexwold’s prime location is soon apparent with access to freeways such as the R21/ R24 interchange which connects to the south for access to industrial hubs like Wadeville, to the east connecting to industrial hubs like Isando, Boksburg, Dunswart and Elandsfontein, the N3 which connects to the N1 Western Bypass which carries to Bryanston, Buccleuch, Marlboro and Midrand.

Essexwold has access to some of Gauteng’s foremost educational institutions like St Andrew’s School for Girls, St Benedicts College and Bedfordview Christian College.

Malls in and close to Essexwold are Eastgate Shopping Centre, Greenstone Mall and Norwood Shopping Mall.
