What is the economic significance of middle-class residential suburbs you may ask yourself? This is the segment that provides homes to the majority of the consumer market that is able to afford a bond or to be in the position to be granted a bond. So in this way this is the segment that contributes to the economy on a macro-scale.

Springs is a town located on the East Rand, consisting of many suburbs ranging from prestigious to low income housing. Like most other towns and suburbs, the property usage has to cater for the whole income spectrum to make it a viable market. The suburb is well-established with older architecture interspersed with some homes with a more modern architecture. First-time buyers, young families and established families will find a home within their budget in this familial tranquil atmosphere.

There are a vast number of schools catering to Edelweiss and surrounding suburbs, here is a short list of some popular established schools; Dunnotar Primary School, Springs Technical High School and CVO Skool Paul Kruger.

Carnival City was a welcome addition to the entertainment and retail for the region, there are other malls like Springs Mall, Carnival City Mall and malls in Benoni.
