Davidsonville is an established mixed-use residential suburb of Roodepoort. The mixed-use of property consists of freehold homes and sectional-title apartment complexes and sectional-title townhouse complexes.

Sales in the suburb are stable and the fact that there are not many homes for sale indicates that families would tend to remain in the suburb for at least five years before moving, relocation or down-sizing or upgrading to a larger home within the suburb. This is one factor that contributes to the stable growth rate and the other factors that create stability are the fact that the infrastructure servicing the suburb is established.

The status of the suburb as a middle-class residential suburb is reflected in the well-maintained state of homes, their architecture which indicates the reasonably young age of the suburb and accessibility to the various amenities.

The suburb does in some way impart family values which is something that can be deduced from the number of homes for sale.

When a correctly priced property becomes available on the market it is generally scooped up within the three to six month period and at an average value of R 850 000, each home will have its new owner. The architectural style of homes is more modern as the suburb is not that old and this is another factor that will attract the younger generation with families.

The stands that homes are built on are what one could refer to as the manageable end of the spectrum thus not too large to maintain and large enough for children to frolic in and for the outdoor entertainers to enjoy their gardens and the outdoors.

The suburb has access to all the major industrial precincts in Chamdor, Factoria, Manufacta and Lewisham and commercial precincts in Roodepoort, Honey Hill, Strubens Valley and Wilgeheuwel

Residents will find all their retail and entertainment needs met at Clearwater Mall, Westgate Shopping Mall, Princess Crossing Shopping Mall and Florida Junction Shopping Mall.
