Centurion is a major intersection in Gauteng between north and south, the greater Johannesburg's northern suburbs and Pretoria.

Will this development see the rezoning of Monavoni to mixed use residential status?

Centurion, Pretoria West, is growing and it is located well between all the major centres in Gauteng. Popular for its location, Centurion is expanding by the day. Demand for Centurion is increasing due to its location.

A new mall is under construction for the south west of Pretoria, as if Centurion Mall was not enough.

A new mall, Forest Hill mall is located in the Forest Hill City Precinct.

The South African Council of Shopping Centres (SACSC) says they are targeting metropolitan areas with the highest population growth figures. They say their idea is the impacting needs for housing, schools and general infrastructure.

The mall will offer a total of 110 000 m2of retail shopping and a total of 289 000 m2 of mixed use development.

According to research done by developers and investors, the mall will cater for the current 112 500 residents, while a further population growth of 160 000 is expected for the region in 2014.

The phases of the mall at completion will comprise of two hotels, a-grade office space, motor showrooms and a total of 1500 apartments.

In the meantime, the following malls are already in place for the person who likes shopping:

  • Brooklyn Mall
  • Centurion Mall
  • City Centre
  • Kollonade Mall
  • Menlyn Park
  • Quagga Mall

Centurion certainly looks like the place to be and this development will further cement the growth currently seen in Centurion. This makes it a certain growth prospect for residential property investors, residents and even the buy-to let market segments. The demand will certainly increase for Centurion.
