The middle-class suburb of Brighton Beach on the KZN South Coast is this idyllic tranquil suburb that will appeal to the larger market.

Spacious homes and large tropical landscaped gardens are the order of the day with the almost obligatory British Colonial and Georgian architecture and of course there is the good collection of conventional and contemporary modern homes just for good measure.

A mixed property usage consisting of freestanding homes, townhouses and apartments ensure good sales in the suburb and in turn growth in property values.

As in any other residential suburb the important factors apply such as whether the suburb is in a prime or good location, the number of schools that are nearby and how close the office is to home. Brighton Beach conforms to all these requirements with a few other beneficial attributes. Brighton Beach is a coastal suburb which means in this case that residents have direct access to white beaches and the warm Indian Ocean.

Central Durban is not that vast in terms of commercial hubs thus distances to reach most destinations are negligible.

The Durban CBD is on the doorstep and other commercial hubs like Umhlanga and Durban North are a few minutes’ drive away.

Schools servicing Brighton Beach are Dirkie Uys Primary School, Brighton Beach Senior Primary School, Fairvale Secondary School, Grosvenor Girls’ High School and Grosvenor Boys’ High School.

Shipping and allied industries forms a large part of the household income which places Brighton Beach in and advantageous position of being close to the commercial harbours of Durban.

Brighton Beach residents have benefited greatly from the development of uShaka Marine World and the redevelopment of The Bluff region with a number of more exclusive entertainment venues and retail outlets now within even more readily access. This has also in small part contributed to a rise in property values.
