Comments & Notes

This home for sale in Ifafi's sought after Birdwood Estate is being sold privately. Myroof does not charge a commission for selling property. There is a huge saving. This exclusive 280m2 home consists of the main bedroom with it's plush en-suite bathroom, a further 2 large bedrooms and 2 bathrooms make up the house. The bedrooms offer views over the garden and surroundings. The home has 2 kitchens, the main kitchen is exquisitely crafted complimenting the rest of the home, a double automated garage and a double carport. Hartebeespoort Dam. In the 60's and 70's Hartbeespoort Dam was a recreational attraction with very little property development being undertaken in the region. Today some of South Africa's exclusive lifestyle, eco and golf estates are located around the river, dam and it's catchment area. Hartebeespoort Dam was constructed in April 1923 after long delays through natural disasters, world war and negotiations with the state and the owners of the land. This is a brief history of the dam, Harties as it is affectionately known. In 1906 the government ordered test to be undertaken to establish the feasibility of a dam wall for irrigation purposes. The ground was found to be suitable and a proposal was tabled which was named the Hartbeespoort Act 32 of 1914. The official construction commenced on August 1916. the first ever expropriation of land in South Africa was between the state, General Hendrik Schoeman one owner and a Mr Marshevin, both owners of land within the catchment area of the proposed dam. The matter was resolved with what is described as slight hard-handedness on the part of the government at that stage. Construction resumed and at some stage flood halted the construction again in 1914 and 1918 with construction wood being washed away in the floods. The First World War halted construction for some time and then in 1921 another company resumed construction and was then finally completed in April 1923. The water quality of the Hartebeespoort Dam is sadly of poor quality and there are investigations under-way to establish corrective procedures. This has not deterred developers from seizing the opportunity to construct exclusive homes on the bank of the dam, estates like Pecan Wood to name but one. Myroof has exclusive properties across South Africa. Take a finger tour and select you investment.
